Michelle Prager was born in Nyköping, Sweden and grew up in three countries: England, the USA and Sweden.
Michelle's vocal journey began at Södra Latin's Music High School in Stockholm, where her passion for both acting and singing led her to specialize in musical theatre studies.
Following her time at Södra Latin Michelle chose to develop her acting skills at Mountview Theatre School in London and Spegelteatern (The Mirror Theatre) in Stockholm. Through Spegelteatern she had the opportunity to work with Dag Schantz, who encouraged her to start training as an opera singer. This new genre suited Michelle's dramatic voice and personality perfectly. Michelle went on to train as a mezzo at Opera Studio 67 in Stockholm, and performed the roles of Dorabella, Ramiro, the Secretary, and Charlotte, in fully-staged productions.
Work in two productions at Läckö Castle followed. Michelle also performed the title role in Carmen with Opera Vox in Stockholm, as well as the part of Meg in Opera Vildmark's production of Falstaff at the Ice Theatre in Jukkasjärvi.
The next step in Michelle's journey was to study with Derek Barnes at the Opera University in Gothenburg. Other teachers that Michelle has trained with are David L. Jones, Cathy Pope and Hillevi Martinpelto.
Michelle sang the role of Santuzza in Hampstead Garden Opera's production of Cavalleria Rusticana in London 2016.
